Leslie A. Deer, Muscogee (Mvskoke) Nation of Oklahoma, is an apparel designer and textile artist who began her career by making her own dance regalia while on tour with the American Indian Dance Theatre. To further her knowledge in fashion design, Leslie earned a bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design and Production from Oklahoma State University in 2016. Since graduating, Leslie has participated in many juried Indigenous art markets winning multiple awards. L. A. Deer Apparel pieces have been acquired by a wide range of collectors, ranging from the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian to world-renowned artists, authors, and activists.
