Jaylee Lowe is a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and is also of Muscogee (Creek) heritage. She is a self taught Seminole patchwork artist who continues her family's legacy of Seminole patchwork by reviving older acestrial designs. Jaylee’s work can be distinguished by her prioritization of remnants which is reflected in the colors of the various patterns seen throughout her work. Remnants are significant to her art making process as the technique has been used traditionally. Her pieces honor the storytelling ability that is inherent to Seminole patchwork.
