MOVEMENT

The focus for this exhibition is on high-end fashion wearables and accessories of Native conception, production, and design. 
 
With each artist following the theme of MOVEMENT, open to their own interpretation, the conceptual basis for the show is as follows:
 
Movement in place:
Migration, relocation, transitions, liminal places.
 
Movement in thought:
Philosophical movements, schools of thought and approaches to Native art. Redefining the self after change.
 
Movement in time:
Revolutions - in time, in societies, in art - this concerns movement as well as time travel as well as socio-economic and global transitions in history.
 
Physical movement:
Of the body, of the spirit, connectedness between the body and spirit, physicality, different ways of viewing movement/ability. Inherent relationship between the body and the metaphorical/ritual/philosophical.
